Production Underway On Independent Feature GRASS STAINS

RALEIGH—Filming is officially underway in and around Raleigh, part of North Carolina’s Research Triangle Region, on the independent feature, Grass Stains.
Starring Kaitlyn Dever (Justified, J. Edgar, Bad Teacher) and Tye Sheridan (Mud, The Tree of Life), Grass Stains is the coming of age story of a teenager (Sheridan) who tries to deal with his guilty conscience after his role in a prank causes the death of his girlfriend’s (Dever) older brother.
The feature was written and is being directed by Kyle Wilamowski. Matt Perniciaro, Kevin Mann and Rachel Miller of Haven Entertainment along with Deckplate Films’ Steve Olivera and Michael Sherman are producing.
Grass Stains is expected to create more than 85 job opportunities with principle photography for the feature expected to last about one month and overall production in the state running from June until the first week in August.
Grass Stains is one of 35-plus productions that have, to date, filmed or will be filming in North Carolina in 2013. All together, these productions anticipate having a total direct in-state spend in excess of $250 million while providing over 25,000 job opportunities, including approximately 3,000 possible positions for the state’s highly-skilled crew base. Highlights include the filming of the breakout CBS summer series Under The Dome, the third season of the award-winning series Homeland, the filming of the second season of Cinemax’s hit series Banshee, the first season of Fox’s new series Sleepy Hollow, the feature film Tammy, the made-for-television movie The Perfect Summer and Norman Rockwell’s Shuffleton’s Barbershop, and the independent features The World Made Straight, Careful What You Wish For and The Ultimate Life. In addition, national commercials for Fiat, Planters Peanuts, PepsiCo and NASCAR have also shot in the state.
