Navigating the Intracoastal Waterways and the Outer Banks is the specialty of the North Carolina Department of Transportation's Ferry Division. Most of their vessels ferry both passengers and vehicles to islands and ports-of-call up and down our 300 miles of coastline. They enjoy working with the film community and most recently were vital in the making of "Nights in Rodanthe" (Warner Bros).
Please work through the Film Office should you wish or require ferry service or film at terminals/ports. Homeland Security guidelines are in place along our coastlines and at our ports, and we want your filming experience to be smooth sailing. We will serve as your liaison with the NC Ferry Division, assisting in scheduling and passage.
